With today's win against the Dragons the
Cats
smash team records!
story by Ian Gibson
Sunday January 24, 2010; Powassan ON, Powassan Dragons 3, Elliot Lake Bobcats
14.
The Elliot Lake Bobcats had a very disciplined, well played game today and in
the process broke three team records, said Coach Leonard in a telephone
conversation shortly after the game. First of all, if you read yesterdays
report you noted that they had tied the record for successive wins, and of
course, with today's win surpass the tie with their eleventh in a row. The
second record was for most points scored in a game when David Sefcik #12 managed
to accumulate no less that seven points with three goals and four assist! The
last record was for that of most points by a defenseman scored by Mario Dojcar
#14 when he got five. This was done after only two periods, as he sat the
third out in the dressing room. Who knows what would have happened if Mario had
played the third? Although not a record, honourable mention goes to
Phillip Kajba #11 for garnering six points in this game. Congratulations
to the team, David and Mario for setting the bar for future teams and players.
The Boys played well and had fun as did goaltenders #30 Robinson and #1 Perry
who shared the game with 30 minutes each.
The question now is; can this strong hard playing team continue and win all five
of their remaining regular season contests? GO CATS GO!
