Cats lead series Two games to nil.
story and photos by Ian Gibson
I had a real problem as to what to caption the next two photos with. I
finally narrowed it down the following choices:

a) Is it any wonder they lost, the goalie can't find the puck!
or
b) pick the period contest is this the first, second or third period?
AND
a) Pick your partner, here we go allemande left and a doe see doe
or
b) pick the period contest is this the first, second or third period and what
gave it away?

Thessalon Arena, Thessalon ON, Thursday March 4, 2010, Algoma Avalanche 2,
Elliot Lake Bobcats 7.
The first period saw the Avalanche bring out their 'A' team, they were the first
on the score board! but alas it was not for long as the Cats went into the
dressing room with a one goal lead. The hockey game continued in the
second, well until the Cats got ahead 4 to 1, then chippyness reared its ugly
testosterone filled head. The game was not out of reach so the rumbling did not
reach earthquake proportions. Late in the second the Avalanche found the
back of the net with a blast from just over the blue line on a power play which
after the initial stop, dribbled in over Robinsons right pad. Then came
the third and after the Cats lit up the goalie three more times, Algoma decided
that if they can't win the game they might as well try and win the fight! Too
bad they didn't succeed at either!
Game three is tomorrow night in Elliot Lake, come on guys play hockey to the
best of your ability and that way you can show your appreciation to the fans who
supported you all season long. Keep up the Donny Brooking and you will be
playing to empty arena's!
