Cough, Cough, excuse me, Cough, Cough!
story and photos by Ian Gibson

Coughing up the puck usually leads to this type of a situation.
Elliot Lake Centennial Arena, January 8, 2010: Elliot Lake
Bobcats 9, King City, King Wild 6.
The title of this write up says it all. Both teams were
guilty of "coughing up the puck" (at least) for the first ten goals. This
made it difficult for the net minders at both ends of the rink. The
forwards on both teams were skating hard for the entire game.
Unfortunately the defence coughed up the puck on some poor passes for the first
and second periods.
The Cats opened the scoring at the 17:30 mark of the first
period and followed it with another at 7:41. That was it for the first,
however in the second the lead changed hands twice more leaving the Cats
ahead 6 to 5 at the periods end. The Cats, who never seem to run out of
gas struck quickly in the third with three unanswered goals scored in a little
under four minutes. The Wild found the back of the net with 9:29 to go in
the period but were unable to do it again. Shots on goal were 49 by the Bobcats
to 42 by the King Wild.
Notables for this game were #26 Tom Rush, #23 Patrick Mirga for
the Bobcats and #61 Brendan Garrugia and #13 Joseph Santino for the King Wild
