penalty riddled game.
story and some photos by Ian Gibson

Great positioning and perseverance such as this helped the Bobcats find the
back of the net eight times!

Elliot Lake, ON Friday November 6, 2009; The Bobcats managed to
win with the help of Blake Robinson a new goalie who comes to us from the Topeka
Roadrunners. Blake started off a little shaky but came on strong for the
remainder of the game. If you care to check out the box score you will see
that Blake was literally had his baptism under fire facing a total of 42 shots
while the Bobcats were assessed a total of 18 penalties throughout the match to
the Moose's six. A little lopsided, you might perceive? Our Cats
were being penalized on some very close calls. Now, we all know that
things of that nature will occur at various times, however it was generally felt
by a majority of the fans that the game was being ruined by a certain referee.
Well folks, too bad, as I said those things will happen. Let me
tell you what should not have happened and that is this same referee apparently
answered back to the upset crowd at the end of the second period and made
gestures toward the fans behind the glass during the third period. The referee
is a professional and should not have paid the spectators any heed.
The game was hard hitting by both teams. The difference was in goaltending
and some great timing and passing by the Bobcats. All in all the Bobcats played
a hard fought game which was ultimately proven by the outcome of game.
Outstanding players this game for the Bobcats #13 Roman Jurak,
#26 Tom Rush and #12 David Sefcik, for the Moose #16 Jon Minard seemed to be
everywhere as was #6 Nathan Joy.
