77's Victims to Ailing Bobcats losing 8 to 6
story by Ian Gibson

The visiting Oro Medonte 77's were in town last
night (Friday October 23) to face a Bobcat team who due to this silly cold
floating about with reckless abandon, were only playing at about 70% of their
capacity. I, unfortunately, was not at the game (sorry no fuzzy pics for
you) and have obtained this information from Coach Leonard. The boys
played as well as could be expected until they got ahead 7 to 3 late in the
second period. According to the Coach they then tried very hard to score goals
and that overshadowed their normally sterling defence. From that point on
they gave up no less than five breakaways, and a few two on one situations which
led to golden opportunities for the 77's to take advantage of. In the
third period the Cats visited the 'box' no fewer than 5 times compared to 3 for
the 77's allowing the visitors to capitalize on two of their power plays.
Coach Leonard also mentioned that the Thessalon
Algoma Avalanche players who are also suffering from the bug that is floating
around are all home resting and recuperating.
This evening the team is off to Powassan to play
a make up game. Some of the boys are still recovering from the cold bug
and won't be going. Good Luck Guys.
