Elliot Lake Centennial Arena, Friday February 20, 2010 Elliot lake Bobcats 12, Oro Medonte 77"s 2.

Not only are the Elliot Lake Bobcats the season champions, they set a new club record of seventeen straight wins in a row!  The Bobcat's, with tonight's victory, arrived into first place by one point over 2nd and 3rd tied South Muskoka and Bradford.

The game tonight started off with a very hot goalie for the 77's # 1 Merlo Repitish who although one got by him early in the period staved off a brutal attack by the Cats until the last three and a half minutes of the first period.  At that point his defensemen let him down and the Cats popped in four quick ones prior to heading for the dressing room.
The second period found the Cats not able to continue the flash of the first period and the only goal was by the 77's at the 10:41 mark. ironically all of the penalties assessed to the Bobcats were during the second period.
In the third period the Cats unleashed the offense scoring no less than seven goals to the 77's one. 

At games end the Bobcats had the 'compulsory victory pile up' which looked like this:

Both Coach Leonard and The Honourable Rick Hamiton, Mayor of Elliot Lake addressed the players and the fans
praising the boys for their sterling play and the fans for their great support:
