Cats fly their way to an 8 - 4 victory over
Lakers
story and photos by Ian Gibson

Derrik Pilatic flew through the air with the greatest of ease, but could not
be held back as he
proceeded to score two goals in the victory over the Lakers.
Elliot Lake Arena, Friday November 20, 2009, the Innisfil Lakers
hot off their 8 - 3 victory over the Algoma Alouettes had the tied turned
against them as the bobcats came out flying in the first period. Not to
take anything away from the Lakers as they were not lying down by any stretch of
the imagination, the shots on goal were 19 to 18 in favour of the Cats.
The major difference was that the Lakers goalie allowed four goals to the Cats
Two.
The second period was almost identical to the first whereas
everything was the same except the shots on goal; 17 for Innisfil to 16 for
Elliot Lake. Score at the end of the second was now 8 to 4.
There was no scoring in the third and the end of the period was a little chippy, but not overly so.
The 275 to 300 fans were treated to some very good hockey this
evening that had a smattering of errant passes that lead to a few goals for both
sides, although from a Bobcat fan standpoint it seemed that we had more two on
ones, breakaways and in one case a two on zero situation which didn't pay off.
Final shots on goal were 50 for the Cats and 47 for the Lakers.
Outstanding players for this game were: #10 Derrik Pilatic, #13
Roman Jurak and #23 Patrick Mirga. For the Lakers #12 Viktor Perezhogin,
#4 Mark Padobnak and # 21 Nils Berger.
