Bobcats too much for Innisfil Lakers winning 4 to 1 story and photos by Ian Gibson
Elliot Lake, Nov 25, GMHL Classic Showcase Tournament; tonight's game vs the Innisfil Lakers was not the best game that the Cats have played this year. I'm not sure whether it was the fact that they were being showcased or just not up for a game, they seemed disorganized on the ice. The last five minutes of the game looked like an old fashioned game of shinny! Players were all over the ice and some skirmishes broke out. All I can say is that if it wasn't for the offensive skills of Roman Yurak, a very few others and Blake Robinson the goalie the score could have easily gone the other way. The Coach said after the game that it was the worst game that this team had ever played. It was bad enough for the 120 or so fans watching and I'm sure they all hope it was a huge case of the 'Showcase Jitters' and that the team as we know it will present themselves on the ice tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. when they play the Oro-Medonte 77's.
